WHAT IS THIS ‘Q’ FACTOR ALL ABOUT?

‘Q’ = Quantum.  Exciting scientific research into the brain, our thoughts and emotions and how we affect ourselves, each other and everything in the world around us, quantum energy field.
‘Q’ = quando, Italian root for “when”, used for actor’s cues; a signal for action; a stimulus to perception; sign; key. Cue is a spelling of the letter Q.
‘Q’ = Quintessential, the essence of all, that which is at the core, the most essential part of any substance.
‘Q’ = Quinn, Denise (naturally!)

Internal Cues
The internal cues of a corporation are what will make or break the company.  When management and employees pay attention to these internal cues within the company they have the capacity to work together as a team.  This team building is essential to the success of teams, companies, and any other groups that need to work together to succeed together.

The Q Factor is all about the internal cues that occur within a company.  Most times these subtle cues between managers and employees, or employee to employee, go unnoticed.  This disregard for noticing cues can be detrimental to a company.  This is because within these cues are important pieces of information that can reveal how employees feel about their jobs, about themselves, and about the people that they work with.  When management and employees start to listen to these internal cues they become aware of the inner workings of the team as a whole.  Management needs to know when an employee is unhappy with (1) another employee, (2) a management decision, (3) the job that they are doing, (4) their personal position within the company, and (5) any other issue that will have an affect on the way the employee works.  The more open and noticed these internal cues are the better chance the employees of a company have of working together and working towards the resolution of any problems.

Benefits of the Q Factor
Utilizing the Q Factor in a company or business will be advantageous to employees, management, and employers.  The internal workings of a company should never be overlooked since they offer the key to success and to ensuring productivity.   Some of the benefits of the Q Factor include:

·     When the internal cues are identified there is a better understanding of the decision making process within the company.
·     Ideas are recognized, acknowledged, and acted upon.
·     Companies learn how creativity can generate more idea and have a positive influence on decision making.
·     The Q Factor helps to identify early on those warning signs that a company is in trouble internally.
·     Communication is increased between employees, employees and management, and within management.
·     An increase in the happiness and satisfaction of all employees.

The Q Factor is one tool that you won’t want to overlook whether you own a company, are part of a management team, or are an employee of any sized corporation.  The Q Factor will take a company from failure, past mediocrity, to full blown success over a short period of time.

The Q Factor Team
When all members of the team, including management and employees, learn to identify and recognize what the Q Factor is they’ll be able to utilize all their skills as one team unit.  These internal cues are often the factors that will make or break a company that is just starting out or one that has been well established for quite some time.
Many first warnings that a company is in trouble will be located within the internal cues of a company.  Some of the internal cues that are often overlooked, but must be acknowledged are (1) rumours among employees that include things they are not happy with, (2) suspicions among employees that all is not well within the company, and (3) there is a continuing trend among employees to miss deadlines.  Employers and managers need to identify these internal cues, and rather than acting on them in an aggressive manner, they need to gently asses them to get to the heart of the problem.

Employees and Making Decisions.
Employees are one of the key resources for any company or organization.  It’s the knowledge and skills of these employees that are going to be vital in meeting the goals of the company.  All of this knowledge and these skills need to be available to everyone in the company, and many times this means reading the internal cues of each employee so the right decisions are made.

When internal cues are listened to, and all the employee knowledge is put onto one big pool, it will easier to make decisions that affect the company as a whole.  When employees brainstorm, and place all their skills and knowledge together, there is a larger chance that decision making will become more effective and that more options will be available to solve problems.

All of this comes down to effective communication that is the result of listening to the internal cues of everyone in the company.  You may want to develop workshops, or brainstorming sessions, where employees can discuss their thoughts, feelings, and concerns about their own job and about how they feel about their position in the company.  Business coaching can be helpful in this area as coaching teaches people how to communicate and speak up for themselves in the work environment.
